The 7th international Baltic Earth Winter School on 'Earth System Science for the Baltic Sea Region' has brought together doctoral students, early-career researchers and scientists for one week on 24-28 March 2025, in Klaipeda University (in Lithuania).
This winter school focused on all key parts of the Earth system—the atmosphere, ocean, Baltic Sea, land surface, and both land and marine ecosystems. The program has been carefully designed based on young scientists' research interests and expectations. Scientists and lecturers from the Baltic Earth community and coastal universities and marine research institutes presented their research topics in an engaging and easy-to-follow way.
The international 7th Baltic Earth Winter School brought together around 60 participants (including around 40 young scientists), representing universities from 9 countries (Germany, Poland, France, Lithuania, Denmark, Finland, Estonia, Portugal, Sweden).
The young scientists presented their research, actively participated in discussions, participated in field practice and solved the problems of today's marine ecosystem conservation and sustainable use of natural resources based on scientific solutions.
We hope to see all at future Baltic Earth events, continuing the tradition of education and scientific progress of marine researchers.
