Celsius Symposium, 12 January 2022, 13 - 16:30, Uppsala University, Sweden
"Centigrade" is the scale, Anders Celsius the scientist behind it. But that is only one facet of his work in the early days of scientific data collection. In January 1722, Anders Celsius and Erik Burman started to measure the weather in Uppsala.
These observations have continued for 300 years. The Department of Earth Sciences is celebrating this tercentenary with a symposium, demonstrating Celsius’s contribution to climate research. It will be discussed how climate data is derived from weather observations and what we can expect from the climate in the future.
Register for the Symposium at Uppsala University by 20 December 2021.
